Gov. Ron DeSantis announces that the Florida Legislature will be recalled for a special session in May
In order to try to remove the instability that is currently affecting the property insurance system of the state
A problem that has led to huge rate increases and loss of coverage for some homeowners
The property insurance session will be the second special session called by DeSantis this year.
MPs are meeting in Tallahassee this week to agree, after the Legislature vetoed a plan previously approved.
DeSantis said he expects there will be "some discretion and stability" in the property insurance market.
DeSantis has previously said he’d “welcome” it if legislators opted for a special session on property insurance.
